His first novel, I Am Not a Serial Killer, was released in 2009. Ruin is a series that combines The Hunger Games’ thrilling action with the provocative themes of Blade Runner and The Stand. In the final installment of the Partials Sequence, the novel tells the story of three men named Kira, Samm, and Marcus who fight to prevent a final war between Partials and humans. The novel went on to become a New York Times Best Seller. He began writing video game reviews and has since described himself as a “rabid gamer.”ĭan worked as a corporate writer for NuSkin before becoming a published novelist.ĭan’s novel Ruins was published by Balzer + Bray on March 11, 2014. As a child, he also enjoyed writing scripts, songs, and poetry.ĭan also contributed to BYU’s speculative fiction magazine, Leading Edge.
